Rilo Kiley at the Warfield SF

i didn't get around to posting this because I've been pretty busy since I got back from the show on Thursday, but it was AMAZING ! despite my previous feelings towards the new album, the concert was awesome. this is actually my third time seeing jenny (i saw her once before in san francisco with the rest of Rilo Kiley back in 2005 and once for the Jenny Lewis with the Watson Twins in 2006, also in san francisco) and by far, this was the best show i've been to of the three. grand ole party and johnathan rice were openers, of course. and ben gibbard even made an appearance ! he sang and played tamborine with johnathan rice on one song. he was such a tease though, because he did not end up singing with jenny (everyone was expecting them to bust out with "nothing better"). because this post will probably take up a lot of space, i'll put pictures and the setlist under a cut.

as done by awkwardboyhero, i will also post some of the show highlights
-jenny got hit in the face with a stuffed koala and said "i just got hit with a koala. what-the-fuck..."
-they started playing the beginning of "under the blacklight" and i got disappointed because i was almost certain that it was going to be that song--but transitioned into silver lining instead--they are so tricky.
-huge clear balloon balls filled with silver confetti were launched into the crowd while silver lining played
-right before they played smoke detector, one of the girls who got picked to go on stage frantically climbed up onto the stage and mooned everyone (she was wearing a dress and no underwear, yeah go figure..)
-as previously mentioned, ben gibbard made an appearance too :)
-they also covered "rise up with fists," which was amazing as well.

also, sidenote: my friend works at a cupcake shop in SF and the day of the show, i guess blake was there with winona ryder buying cupcakes. haha
